Kolkata Rape Case: Forced To Perform Last Rites Of Their Daughter… Deceased’s Parents Suffer

Protests were held across West Bengal, including Kolkata, on Wednesday night, with lights off, demanding justice in the Kolkata rape and murder case. The victim’s father, mother and relatives joined the protest at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. On this occasion the father of the deceased said that he had said earlier that the whole incident was not normal. He said that under some compulsion he had to perform the last rites of his daughter that day.

Apart from Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer, no one has been arrested in the brutal murder of the lady doctor. The parents of the deceased have warned to continue the agitation demanding justice. Speaking on the occasion, the mother of the deceased said, “I want criminals to spend sleepless nights like me.”

On this day, the victim’s father raised many questions. He asked, “Why was the autopsy delayed? Why was a case of unusual death reported? Who arranged free cremation? Why was it said to be suicide before the postmortem? Who will answer us, the police or the hospital authorities?

He made sensational allegations against the police. The father of the deceased claimed that the police had offered him money. He also alleged that DC Central Indira Mukherjee is repeatedly lying.

The deceased’s uncle said, “I got the news at 10:55 am that day (August 9). We took the car to the hospital in an hour. All four of us got together. The police surrounded us until the body was cremated. At least three to four hundred policemen detained our family.

Performance with lights off

It is worth mentioning that on August 8, the doctor was on night shift. The next morning, his body was found at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. She was allegedly raped and murdered. In this incident, Kolkata Police arrested a citizen volunteer named Sanjay Roy. After taking over the investigation, the CBI took Sanjay on remand from the police.

However, no one has been arrested in the doctor’s murder case. This year the junior doctors staged a unique protest by switching off the lights for an hour. The lights of the Raj Bhavan were switched off at 9 pm on his phone. Almost various parts of the city, including the Victoria Memorial, RG Kar Medical College and the hospital complex, were plunged into darkness.
