Punjab Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Conservation Lalchand Kataruchak has congratulated the Indian men’s hockey team for defeating Australia 3-2 in their final Pool ‘B’ match at the Paris Olympics.

Minister Lalchand Kataruchak said that after 52 years, India has defeated the Australian hockey team in the Olympic Games. Before this, India defeated Australia during the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Congratulating the Indian team on its journey ahead, Minister Lalchand Kataruchak expressed confidence that the Indian team will surely win a medal this time too. It is noteworthy that in today’s match, Abhishek scored in the 12th minute while captain Harmanpreet Singh scored in the 13th and 32nd minutes. Tom Craig scored in the 25th minute and Blake Gowers in the 55th minute for Australia.
