Luis Suárez might be one of the biggest stars in Major League Soccer, and one of the best players of his generation, but he, nor any footballer, will ever escape banter at the hands of rivals fans.
It’s one of the reasons football can be so much fun, and a Columbus Crew fan followed the script during Monday night’s Leagues Cup clash against Suárez’s star-studded Inter Miami side.
The 37-year-old Uruguayan, who became famous at Ajax, Liverpool and Barcelona among others, has long been renowned for his teeth, as well as his use of them – see Otman Bakkel, Branislav Ivanovic and Giorgio Chiellini for more information.
Against the Crew, he was met with one of the most blatant but best t-shirts. It feels more WWE crowd than MLS, but you can’t help but laugh.
Surely, even VAR isn’t that strict?
To make matters worse, Suárez and his defending champion Miami side crashed out, throwing away 2-0 lead to lose 3-2.
Maybe, the crowd, as well as the absence of Lionel Messi, had something to do with it!
