Manoj Jarange Patil is once again appearing aggressive on the Maratha reservation issue. Reservation activist Manoj Jarang said on Saturday that if the state government fails to grant reservation to the Marathas by July 13 midnight, they will start an indefinite fast from July 20. Jarang has urged the Marathas to gather in Mumbai for the next phase of the movement.
At a rally in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Manoj Jarange Patil said that if his demands were not met by midnight, protests for Maratha reservation would resume on July 20 in Antarwali Sarti village of Jalna district. He said that the one-month deadline for implementing the reservation has expired today. Therefore, I want the government to fulfill the 9 demands of the Maratha community.
Adamant on demand for recognition as Marathas
Manoj Jarange Patil is adamant about issuing Other Backward Classes (OBC) certificates to the state’s Kunbis (farmers) and their blood relatives as Marathas. He had earlier staged a large-scale protest and hunger strike on the issue. Zarange has announced that he will announce his next move next Saturday.
Jarang challenged the government
Jarange said we don’t want to come to Mumbai and defeat their 288 candidates. This is the last chance for the government. I want the power of the state to remain in the hands of the poor Maratha community. Along with this, he also warned that if the Marathas of Marathwada come out, the residents of Mumbai may have to leave the city.
