Maharashtra: Shock For Uddhav Thackeray On The Post Of CM, After Congress, Sharad Pawar Also Said – There Is No Contender

All major alliances are constantly talking among themselves over seat sharing and tickets for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is also going ahead with its preparations for the elections. But on Uddhav Thackeray’s demand to reveal the name of the chief ministerial candidate before the election, Sharad Pawar bluntly said that no one else knows, there is no contender for the chief ministerial post in our party at present. Congress has already rejected this demand.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) leaders Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut are constantly saying that the name of the chief ministerial contender in the state should be announced before the elections. However, other allies of Maha Vikas Aghadi do not seem too enthusiastic about this. First the Congress and now the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) have also refused to do so.

There is no CM contender in the party: Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Sharad Pawar also took the Congress route and said, “I don’t know anyone else, there is no contender for the CM post in our party.”

Former Chief Minister Pawar said, “I can say about my party that no one in the party is interested in the post of Chief Minister and neither do we want to project anyone’s face. We want a change of power in the state and we want to provide good government for the welfare of the people. He further said, “Transformation of power is our first priority. There is no point in questioning who will be the next Chief Minister.

No CM post issue in state: Nana Patole

Earlier, Congress leader Nana Patole had also said in a clear tone that the issue of face of CM post in the state is now over. Apart from this there are many other important issues in the state. Thus it became clear that the MVA CM would contest the election without a face. Nana’s statement is being considered as a major blow to Uddhav Thackeray’s efforts.

Former Maharashtra chief minister and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray had demanded the announcement of the chief ministership in an open forum during his recent visit to Delhi and the MVA meeting in Mumbai.

Meeting of Congress officials in Nashik

On the other hand, an important meeting of Congress officials is to be held in Nashik today. All major leaders including Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chenithala, Pradesh Party President Nana Patole, Vijay Vattiwar and Balasaheb Thorat will be present in this meeting.

In this meeting, the Congress will formulate its strategy on issues like the upcoming assembly elections and its seat sharing with the MVA. According to Congress sources, the party wants to contest on 135 seats, but the NCP Sharad faction and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena are not ready for this.
