Maharashtra: Trouble Over Seat Distribution In Maha Vikas Aghadi, Congress Claims 18 Seats In Mumbai


Political activities have intensified in Maharashtra regarding the assembly elections. Discussions are going on between the constituent parties of Mahavikas Aghadi and Mahayuti regarding seat sharing. Meanwhile, the Congress has claimed 18 out of 36 seats in Mumbai in Mahavikas Aghadi. According to sources, Congress has demanded 18 out of 36 seats in Mumbai. These include special constituencies like Malabar Hill and Asia’s largest slum like Dharavi. On the other hand, Shiv Sena’s Thackeray faction has claimed 20 seats in Mumbai, while NCP’s Sharad Pawar faction has claimed 7 seats.

Congress has demanded 18 seats in Mumbai. According to sources, Congress has held elections in Dharavi, Chandivali, Mumbadevi, Malad West, Sion Koliwada, Kolaba, Kandivali East, Andheri West, Versova, Bandra West, Ghatkopar West, Kurla, Byculla, Jogeshwari East, Malabar Hill, Mahim, Borivali. And Charkop is ready to fight.

Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena is firm on 20 seats. It is also being said that Sharad Pawar’s party NCP has claimed 7 seats. In 2019, Thackeray’s Shiv Sena won 19 out of 36 seats in Mumbai. BJP won 11 seats. Congress won 4 out of 28 seats. While NCP won 1 seat and Samajwadi Party 1 seat.

According to the sources, there is a continuous discussion regarding the distribution of seats in Mahavikas Aghadi. According to this, Congress has prepared to contest elections on 100 to 105 seats. The Sharad Pawar group has started preparations for the 85-90 battle. Along with this, Thackeray Group has decided to contest elections on 95 to 100 seats.

After Ganeshotsav, there will be a meeting between the constituent parties of Mahavikas Aghadi. All these meetings will be held in the parent party. After that, the final decision regarding the seat allotment will be announced before Navratri or during Navratri.
