Maharashtra Police has got a big success in the case of Shivaji’s statue falling in Rajkot fort. Police have arrested sculptor and contractor Jaideep Apte from Thane. Maharashtra Police deployed more than seven teams in search of contractor Jaideep Apte. These teams were constantly looking for him. Apte is currently posted in the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

Contractor Jaideep Apte was awarded the contract to build a 35 feet tall statue of Shivaji. After the construction of the statue, PM Modi unveiled this statue of Shivaji in the fort of Malvan tehsil on the occasion of Navy Day on December 4 last year. But the statue fell last month.

After the statue fell, the Malvan police registered a case against structural consultant Chetan Patil and sculptor Jaideep Apte. However, Patil was arrested earlier in this case.
