Mehbooba Mufti In Midstream… If You Contest Election It Is A Breach Of Promise, If You Don’t Contest Politics Is In Danger.

Jammu and Kashmir Elections: A lot has changed in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 5 years. Now it is not a state, it is a union territory. Assembly elections were held in the state 10 years ago. Then it had two flags. One of us and one of the country. It contained Article 370, which gave special rights. But every countryman had a problem. That is, how can any single state of the country have its own separate flag and constitution? Well, now this separate constitution of Jammu and Kashmir has ended. Now Jammu and Kashmir is a Union Government. This change took place on 5 August 2019, when Article 370 and 35-A were removed.

Now the election will be held in 3 phases, which is interesting for many reasons. For some leaders there is confusion. It is because of their oaths and promises. Which was done back and forth in August 2019. These leaders include PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah. Omar’s oath is broken by his father and party chief Farooq Abdullah. But, the PDP chief is confused. Let’s find out which words and promises of which leader have kept them in the middle. Why is their condition like ‘does not eat, does not spit…’.

How can you break your oath and go to the people’s court?

When Article 370 was removed, many leaders were put under house arrest. Among them were Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti. After their release, both Omar and Mehbooba Mufti vowed not to contest assembly elections until Jammu and Kashmir was re-stated.

The oath was not taken in a closed room but in public. It means the public was witness to the words of these leaders. Now it is time to appear in the court of this people. The Election Commission has announced the dates. Prior to this announcement, party chief Omar Abdullah’s father had recently said that he would contest the elections.

Farooq Abdullah’s announcement is also a violation of Omar’s oath, as the party chief is contesting the elections. This will also indicate that Omar is true to his promise. Also, if Farooq Abdullah contests the party workers and their vote bank will not suffer much. In fact, the party may even seek votes by shouting for Omar’s promise.

What is the harm if Mehbooba Mufti breaks his promise?

On the other hand, the position against Mehbooba Mufti is ambiguous. If he breaks the promise and contests, Umar could be a threat in the polls. If the party sticks to its promise, the party will lack the enthusiasm that is felt when the party chief contests elections. Now it will not be surprising if Mehbooba throws a stake like Farooq. He can contest his daughter Iltija. Iltija has also been very active for some time now. The LG often raises questions on the functioning of the administration.

However, right now the saying ‘don’t eat and don’t spit’ fits the political situation of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti. Valley political experts believe that Mehbooba will soon come out of this dilemma. If she delays too much, she will only suffer. They are also aware of this. There is a churning going on to get out of the maze of oaths. He will decide soon.
