Michigan State football has a lot of new faces this year, and one that we haven’t heard from as much
‘It was awesome… I was excited for him, because he didn’t go through spring, and I just love his process… I mean this guy, just his attention for detail, learning the defense, how important football is for him, it is what I thought it was, that he’s gonna work hard every single day.’
On how he felt about his group after the scrimmage
‘I came out encouraged that we have a bunch of guys there that can help us this season. Usually at this point there’s some separation in the room. Right now… I can’t tell you who those guys are that are gonna be on the field…’
On Maverick Hansen
‘You can see the maturity over the years. Mav’ is a Spartan Dawg through and through. In terms of just the process, what it takes… he acts it out, the way he comes to meetings in the morning, the way he pays attention to the details of the defense. He does a great job with our younger guys, older guys too.’
‘We just know he’s a really good football player.’
On D’Quan Douse adding weight to play inside
‘We want him as big and as quick and as explosive as possible… Our strength staff is elite in terms of giving us that range.. he’s done an incredible job keeping his weight up and he’s playing good football.’
