Along with the famous Mahakaleshwar temple, the religious city of Ujjain is home to seven Shiva temples. The temples located here are as mythical as they are miraculous. At the same time, just before the beginning of the month of Savan, such a sight was seen in a Shiva temple, which left everyone in awe. A six-foot-long cobra snake was found wrapped around the pindi of a Shivalinga in a Shiva temple here. Hundreds of Shiva devotees reached the temple to see the snake. Devotees also captured this miraculous moment with their mobile cameras.
Near Srinath Temple on Dhaba Road, there is a very ancient temple of Sri Omkareshwar Mahadev, ranked 52nd among the 84 Mahadevs. Although the temple is always thronged with people worshiping and offering abhishekam to the Lord, a flood of devotees thronged the temple on Wednesday morning when some devotees saw a cobra snake wrapped around the pindi of the Lord’s Shivlinga.
The devotees called it a miracle
The devotees continued to watch this scene for some time, but gradually, as soon as the devotees came to know that there was a six feet long snake in the temple, a huge crowd of devotees thronged here. People considered it a miracle and considered it auspicious to have such a darshan before the month of Sawan.
This type of darshan mostly happens in the month of Shravan.
It should be remembered that Bhola-Bhandari, the darshan of Nagaraja seated on the neck of Mahadev, is usually maximum in the month of Savan. If Lord Naga is seen around Shivling then it becomes a center of faith for people. Devotees said that till date they had seen the posture of the cobra snake sitting on the Shivlinga only in pictures, but today by the grace of Lord Omkareshwar they got the benefit of such a divine sight. He made a video with his mobile phone and also took a photo of the cobra snake wrapped around the Shivling.
A snake expert was called who picked up the snake.
It is said that when the devotees and the temple priest came to know about this, they immediately called a snake expert to the temple and the snake was caught and taken away by the snake expert. It is said to have been only six feet long and was a snake of the cobra species.
Omkareshwar temple is crowded with devotees every day.
It is said that Omkareshwar Mahadev Temple is one such temple located in Dhaba Road area, where there is a crowd of devotees at all times. From Jalabhishek to the daily Sringar and Aarti of the Lord, a large number of devotees visit here and take advantage of the Lord’s darshan and receive His blessings.
