MP: Argument Over Drawing Water From Government Tap, Uncle And Brothers Attack Two Nephews With Axes, One Dies

In Gadheri village of Khamria, Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, a dispute between two families over getting water from a government tap escalated to such an extent that an uncle and a cousin beat their nephew to death with an axe. There was a long-standing quarrel between the two families over the issue of getting water from the government tap. The dispute suddenly turned violent. Soon the women also joined the fight and the beating started from both sides.

There was a quarrel about filling the water. Akhilesh’s mother Nani Yadav was beaten up due to this dispute in the afternoon. After this, a controversy arose again when 35-year-old Akhilesh Yadav went to fetch water late in the evening. This time the dispute escalated to such an extent that Akhilesh’s uncle Hallu Yadav and his two sons Sandeep Yadav and Pradeep Yadav attacked him with an axe. Akhilesh was seriously injured in the attack and died on the spot.

Water scarcity was also a cause of fighting

A video has surfaced, in which a fierce fight is taking place between the men and women of two families. This video is fast going viral on social media, there is a discussion about getting water from the tap every day due to water problem. This tap was owned by the government and the water comes out clean, this time the discussion of drinking water from this tap escalated so much that the matter reached the point of murder. Villagers have also cited water scarcity as a major source of contention in the village, where fights over limited resources were frequent. The main accused has been arrested by the police.

Akhilesh’s mother Nanhi Yadav told the police that her brother-in-law Hallu Yadav came while filling water from the tap at 6 pm. He was accompanied by his two sons Sandeep Yadav and Pradeep Yadav. The accused sons had a stick and an ax in their hands. Meanwhile, Hallu asked to kill. Nanhi Yadav said that before she knew anything, Pradeep and Hallu caught her and Sandeep attacked her with an ax and killed her. Akhilesh’s mother says that these people also attacked her in the afternoon, for which she went to the Khamria police station and lodged a complaint. If the police had acted immediately, her son would be alive today.

Another charge is being sought

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and arrested the main accused Sandeep Yadav. Meanwhile, a search is on for Hallu Yadav and Pradeep Yadav. According to Khamria police station officials, the incident took place over a water dispute, but the bloody conflict has created an atmosphere of fear in the entire village. City Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar Gautam said the incident is being investigated and the search for other accused is on.
