MP Rain: Rivers Are Raging, Dam Gates Are Being Opened And Flood Threat… Rain Continues To Wreak Havoc In Madhya Pradesh.


Rains have lashed Madhya Pradesh. The state’s Narmada river is about to touch the danger mark. All the river dams are full. Many districts of the state have come under the grip of floods. Farmers’ crops have been destroyed. People are migrating due to flooding everywhere. People are being evicted by advertising in the villages along the river banks. A flood warning has also been issued. The situation is going from bad to worse. Army has been alerted to meet any emergency. Teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed. The life here has become chaotic due to continuous rains.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is monitoring the situation in the state. On Thursday, the Chief Minister held an emergency meeting with officials in Bhopal and discussed the flood situation. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of heavy rains and floods in several districts. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are continuing in the state due to the activation of three systems namely Monsoon Truck, Cyclonic Circulation and Low Pressure Area. Dams and lakes have also overflowed due to incessant rains. A holiday has been declared in schools in districts including the capital Bhopal which are affected by bad weather.

Prohibition on leave of officers

On Thursday, state Chief Minister Mohan Yadav called an emergency meeting and reviewed the relief and rescue operations. He got information about the situation in the state from the officials in the meeting. All departments were instructed to be ready to meet any emergency. In the flood-prone districts of the state, people were asked to keep a constant watch on the situation. In view of the worsening situation due to rain, officials and employees have been instructed not to go on leave until the situation normalizes. Divisional Commissioner, IG, Police Commissioner, District Collector and SP participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

The gates of the dam are being opened

The Narmada river has surged due to heavy rains. The river water is touching the danger mark. All the dams built on the river are filled with water. Their doors are being opened. The biggest threat is looming over the villages situated along the river banks. The surrounding districts are going to be affected by the floods. Apart from Madhya Pradesh, its impact will also be seen in the border state of Gujarat. The local administration is announcing the evacuation of people living on the banks of the river.

Houses collapsed, roads closed, bridges submerged

The gates of Bargi Dam in Jabalpur, Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram district and Barna Dam in Raisen district were opened on Thursday. The heavy rain is not stopping here. There are reports of houses collapsing in many places due to rain. Many roads have been closed. Jabalpur’s Jhansighat bridge has been submerged in water. Earlier on Tuesday, the security wall of Dumna airport collapsed due to rain.

Rivers overflowed, a person drowned

A person was swept away due to the strong flow of water in Mahuar river of Karaira taluk of Shivpuri district. Flood-like conditions are prevailing in many areas of Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur districts due to heavy rains. Many other rivers in the state are also in the sun. Sagar-Bhopal road has been closed in Raisen district due to heavy rain. Roads in Tikamgarh, Vidisha and Shivpuri have also been submerged.
