Amidst the campaigning for the assembly elections in Haryana, politics has heated up regarding the Chief Minister’s face in the BJP. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said that Naib Singh Saini is the chief ministerial face of the BJP in Haryana and under his leadership the party will achieve a hat-trick of victories in the state. The Union minister’s statement came as senior BJP leader in Haryana and former state home minister Anil Vij said that he would stake a claim for the chief minister’s post if the party returns to power.
This statement of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is also very important because BJP has made him the in-charge of Haryana elections. When Pradhan was asked about Anil Vij’s statement in Karnal, he said that being a party worker, Vij might have said that, but Naib Singh Saini is the prime ministerial face of BJP. BJP is contesting the elections under the leadership of popular leader Saini and if it wins, the party will also make a hat-trick.

Referring to the issues, Dharmendra Pradhan said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments on reservation will be a political issue in the assembly elections. He claimed that a few days ago the Congress leader had said that when his party came to power, it would abolish reservation. This is not a new thing. His statement shows the state of mind of the Congress.
BJP leader and former minister Anil Vij said that till date I have never asked for anything from the party. People of the state are coming to meet me. Even in Ambala, people say that I am the most senior leader, but I did not become the Chief Minister. In such circumstances, if the result is favorable this time based on people’s demand and seniority, then I will claim to be the Chief Minister. Anil Vij has been a six-time MLA and has a firm grip on Haryana politics.

BJP has given ticket to Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt. Currently, he is an MLA from this seat. Vij further said that whether the party makes me the CM or not depends on it, but if I am made the Chief Minister, I will change the fate and picture of the state.
When Vij was asked if the party had put forward Saini’s name for the post of chief minister, he said there was no bar to make the claim. I will present my case, the party will take whatever decision it takes. BJP changed the CM in Haryana before the Lok Sabha elections.

The party has removed Manohar Lal Khattar from the post of chief minister and made him a minister at the centre, while Naib Singh Saini has been given the reins of power in Haryana. Polling for 90 assembly seats in Haryana will be held on October 5 and counting will be done on October 8.
