Noida: E-cigarettes Worth Rs 15 Lakh Brought To India From China Found, Two Smugglers Arrested

Drug trade is spreading fast in Noida city. Along with marijuana, e-cigarettes containing flavoring chemicals are now making inroads among young people. Noida Police has arrested two accused from different places who were supplying banned e-cigarettes from cars and bullets. From these accused approximately Rs. E-cigarettes worth 15 lakhs were recovered. The police have seized the car, bullets and mobile phones of both.

Let us tell you that Police Station 39 has caught Riyaz Ahmed near Sector-37. Sector-49 police have arrested Ranjit with e-cigarettes worth lakhs. Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra said that a suspicious car was stopped near Sector-37 for checking after receiving information from an informer. When the car was searched, Chinese-made e-cigarettes worth eight lakhs were found in it. Sector-49 police arrested Ranjit of Pratapgarh with e-cigarettes worth lakhs.

Currently residing in Barola, Ranjit used to supply e-cigarettes with bullets. An e-cigarette is sold for 4 to 5 thousand rupees. These cigarettes were supplied on demand to PGs, colleges and other places. Due to high demand, the price of banned e-cigarettes also increases manifold. Police said that there is a large supply of such e-cigarettes around reputed colleges.

E-cigarette brought by Nepal

According to Noida Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra, the accused during interrogation told that the consignment of e-cigarettes was brought to Delhi via Nepal. From Delhi it is sent to other states and districts for sale. Several gangs supplying e-cigarettes are active around Delhi and Rajasthan, earning millions of rupees in profits every month.

He said that some time ago the police of Sector-39 and Sector-63 police stations busted a gang involved in smuggling of e-cigarettes. Here too the banned e-cigarettes came via Nepal. The WhatsApp group of the arrested accused is being investigated.
