The construction of metro tunnel in Kanpur is causing landslides and cracking of houses. A few days ago, a four-storey building collapsed like a house of cards in the same area. Four days before this, the floor of one of the rooms in a house suddenly broke. Due to which a 20 feet pit was created. Seeing this situation, the people of Harbansh area are in a state of panic, but the troubled people are anxiously looking at their MLA and Kanpur Mayor Pramila Pandey asking where to go.
Houses in Kanpur’s Harbansh area are under threat
Recently, after the completion of the tunnel work, a house has been buried under the ground. While many houses around have cracks. Because of this, there is a constant threat of other houses in the Harbansh area also collapsing. Meanwhile, Metro has completed a survey in the area. According to metro officials, 12 metro buildings will be vacated along with demolition. For this, the department has sought permission from the DM. On which DM Kanpur Rakesh Kumar has directed the Municipal Corporation to take necessary action.

12 houses dilapidated due to construction of tunnel
Metro officials told Mayor Pramila Pandey that a total of 12 houses are dilapidated. Which will be demolished soon. While 45 houses around this area have some problems. Which will be corrected soon. Earlier in this whole matter, the regional MLA Amitabh Bajpai had also warned the metro officials to take the people living in the dilapidated houses to a safe place, but when that did not happen, the people of the area staged a demonstration.

After this, the metro officials have assured them that proper arrangements will be made for all the people as soon as possible. Metro Chief Engineer Azhar, Project Manager Rishi Gangwar, AGM Civil Brijesh Kumar Verma, AFCON’s DK Sinha reached the spot and assured the Mayor that people who have brought their houses to the road due to the building collapse.
Their accommodation will be arranged soon. There are about 12 to 13 dilapidated houses. A few days ago two houses were collapsing and there is a feeling of fear among the people. People are forced to leave their homes to live with relatives or on the streets.
