Now Studying In Delhi University Will Be Expensive, Know How Much Fee Will Increase In Which Course


From the academic session 2024-25, studying in Delhi University will become expensive. The university is planning to increase the fees for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Fees will be hiked in B.Tech programme, five-year integrated law program (BA LLB, BBA LLB), Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP), for foreign students, PhD and NCWEB (Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board). B.Tech courses are set to increase fees for the next four years.

The recommendations of the Fee Revision Committee will be placed as a reporting item in the Executive Council meeting on Saturday after the approval of the Vice-Chancellor. If we look at the fee structure of B.Tech this year, the annual Rs. 8000 increase will be seen.

Fees for this course have increased

Currently the annual fee for B.Tech is Rs. 2,16,000, which is increased to Rs. 2,24,000 will be made. While the current fee in law program is Rs. 1,90,000 which increased to Rs. 1,99,700 will be. While the fee which was Rs 3200-3600 in NCWeb’s BA and B.Com program will increase to Rs 7,130. Thus, in various courses Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 9,000 is increased.

In fact, Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh had approved the new fee structure for the academic session starting from August in June itself. As per the new fee structure, the course fee for first year B.Tech students has been increased by 3.70 percent. Students will now have to pay a fee of Rs 2.24 lakh instead of Rs 2.16 lakh.

Change in fee structure

The University has changed the fee structure, which includes Tuition Fee, Student Welfare Fund, Development Fee, Facilities and Service Fee and Economically Weaker Section Assistance Fund. The contribution clause for Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) has been removed from the department’s fee structure. Similarly, the five-year course fee has been increased by five percent to Rs. 1.90 lakh to Rs. 1.99 lakh has been made.

Relief for foreign students

DU Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi has confirmed the increase in fees for foreign students. Meanwhile, foreign nationals taking admission in PG courses in Hindu Studies at Delhi University will have to pay a lower fee. The fee for students from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member countries has been reduced from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50 thousand and for students from non-SAARC countries from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 1 lakh.
