The accident took place in Botad district of Gujarat.

Until now incidents of tampering with train tracks were coming to light in Uttar Pradesh, while now a similar case has come to light in Gujarat. A passenger escaped from a train accident in Botad. It is being said that the old pieces of iron were kept standing in the middle of the railway tracks. The train collided with these fragments. Hearing the sound, the driver stopped the train and informed the nearest railway station. As soon as the information was received, a team of GRP and RPF immediately reached the spot and conducted an investigation.

The Okha-Bhavnagar passenger train (19210) passing through Ranpur police station limits collided with a four-foot-long piece of old iron placed on the track early on Wednesday at 3 am, SP Kishor Balolia of Botad said. Hearing the sound, the driver stopped the train there. The train stood there for several hours. This was reported to the local police station at around 7.30 am, after which the police reached the spot and started investigation.

Where did this incident happen?

SP Kishore Balolia said that the incident took place about two kilometers from Kundli railway station. According to the police, it appears to be a case of sabotage conspiracy. However, the investigation is ongoing. Three railway employees were arrested last Monday on charges of tampering with railway tracks in Gujarat’s Surat district.

Police arrested 3 accused

According to information, Subhash Poddar (39), Manish Mistry (28) and Shubham Jaiswal (26), posted as trackmen, informed the railway administration during an inspection between Kosamba and Keem stations on Saturday morning that some miscreants had interfered with the railway. Remove the clip and the two fishplates and place them on the other side track. The investigation found the role of these three employees suspicious.

During interrogation, the accused said that they did so because they felt that they would be honored after giving this information. They will be posted on night duty, giving them an opportunity to spend time with family during the day.
