Only Rs 10,000 Left… Divers Give Their Lives, Deputy Director Drowns In Ganga

Aditya Vardhan Singh, Deputy Director posted in Varanasi, drowned while taking a bath in the Ganges. Aditya along with his friends had reached the Nanamou ghat to bathe in the Ganges on Saturday. Seeing Aditya drowning, his friend who was present at the spot requested the divers to rescue him. It is said that the divers demanded ten thousand rupees for the discovery of the Ganga. Due to lack of cash, his friend transferred money online. Divers searched extensively but found no trace of Aditya in the Ganges.

According to information, Aditya Vardhan Singh hails from Kabirpur village of Bangarmau area. And he is posted as Deputy Director in Health Department in Varanasi, and his wife is a Judge in Maharashtra. On Saturday morning, he and his two friends left Lucknow in a car and reached Nanmau Ghat in Bangarmau to bathe in the Ganges. While bathing in the Ganga his foot slipped and he fell into the deep water.

Online money transfer for divers

Seeing his friend drowning, Pradeep, who came along, appealed to the people present on the ghat to save Aditya. It is said that the divers present at the ghat demanded Rs 10,000 from Pradeep for the search. As the money was not available in cash, Pradeep transferred it online to the account of the owner of a grocery shop present at the ghat. Divers searched extensively but without success.

As the matter escalated, the money was returned online.

When a case of divers demanding money to save a drowning person came to light, a shopkeeper named Shailesh, into whose account Pradeep had transferred the money, offered Pradeep an online payment of Rs. 9,000 returned.

Why didn’t you give back a thousand?

Shailesh said that our shop is on the ghat and we run a grocery shop when the incident happened, the divers were sitting at our shop and demanded money. Shailesh said he didn’t have cash so he transferred money online to our number. Later we deducted one thousand rupees and transferred the remaining money to him. Said oil for the steamer was bought for Rs 1,000. Shailesh said that divers work hard and for that they asked for money.
