Panic after death of patient

A case of death of a patient after an operation has come to light in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. After the death, the patient’s family raised a ruckus outside the hospital. The family alleges that the patient’s condition became critical after the operation. The patient’s condition was deteriorating in the ward and the family members came to call the doctor, but the family alleges that the doctor was sleeping in his room. The patient’s health deteriorated and he died.

According to the information, this entire case belongs to SKMCH, the largest hospital in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. Sudhir Kumar, a resident of Baradih, was admitted to the hospital on July 13 after complaining of stomach pain. When the doctor examined the patient, it was found that he had an infection in his stomach which had turned into pus. The doctor advised the patient to undergo an operation. The family had no other option so they agreed. The patient underwent an operation and was admitted to the ward.

The doctor on duty did not come

After the operation, the patient was admitted to the ICU. The family accused the staff and said that no family member came to see the patient in the ICU. When the patient’s condition began to deteriorate, the family requested the medical staff to call a doctor. But the nurse wrote the doctor’s number on the prescription and gave it to him. He went to call the doctor but the doctor did not come. When the nurse administered glucose, the patient’s restlessness increased. Ultimately the patient died.

The doctor kept sleeping

The family has alleged that he went to call the doctor not once or twice but thrice when the patient’s health deteriorated. However, the doctor did not listen to him and kept sleeping with the mosquito net and AC on. Santosh Kumar, the brother of the deceased, said that when he went to the doctor and told him about his brother’s death, the doctor pushed him away. Also assaulted him. After this, the family raised an uproar against SKMCH for hours. A written complaint has been lodged against the doctor. Superintendent Dr. Kumari Vibha said that the matter is very serious, investigation is going on and if there is any accused, he will not be released.
