The High Court has taken a major decision in the bomb blast case that took place during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. The court has commuted the death sentence of four blast accused to life imprisonment. After which the accused will not be hanged. However, there has been no change in the sentence of the two accused who were sentenced to life imprisonment in this case. His sentence will be life imprisonment.

In this case, the civil court sentenced the four accused to death and also imposed a monetary penalty. Now the High Court has commuted his death sentence to life imprisonment. The names of the accused who were sentenced to death are Haider Ali, Mujibullah, Noman and Imtiaz. Those sentenced to life imprisonment include Umar and Azharuddin. The High Court has upheld his sentence.

The High Court commuted the death sentence to life imprisonment

Imran Ghani, lawyer for the victim, while informing about the decision of the High Court, said that the death sentence has been commuted to life imprisonment, while the sentence of Jai has not been changed. Sentenced to life imprisonment.

The lower court pronounced death sentence

After the blasts, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar demanded an NIA probe from the then Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. After this, the NIA filed a charge sheet against the accused in the blast case in the year 2014. 187 people testified in court. After which the Patna lower court sentenced Numan Ansari, Haider Ali, Imtiaz Alam and Mojibullah Ansari to death. The accused filed an application in the High Court against the court’s decision. The accused challenged the decision of the lower court. After which the court changed the decision of the lower court and converted the death sentence of the accused into life imprisonment.
