During the review, Energy Department Secretary Pankajkumar Pal informed the Chief Minister about smart pre-paid meters and said that so far 50.23 lakh smart pre-paid meters have been installed in 17.47 urban areas in the state, one lakh in Uttar Pradesh, while 32.76 lakh smart pre-paid meters in rural areas. have been installed.

He said that the rest of the smart meters will also be installed by the year 2025. In addition to the subsidy given by the state government on using smart pre-paid meters, there is a financial benefit of three percent on recharge. Customers can view the daily consumption and energy bill amount in the smart meter. With the use of smart pre-paid meters, consumers are always aware of energy consumption, leading to energy savings. The state government is giving a subsidy of 15 thousand 343 crore rupees on the consumption of electricity.

Electricity reached all the houses

During the review, the Chief Minister said that in the year 2018, electricity has been provided to all the houses. Uninterrupted electricity is being provided to everyone. The state government is spending money on power consumption as a grant to the consumers so that the people of the state can get cheap electricity. The government is sensitive to solving the problems of the people and is constantly working to provide facilities to them. Resolve any customer complaints immediately. Apart from saving on electricity consumption, smart pre-paid meters also facilitate people in paying their electricity bills. If there is complaint of any kind of technical error in this then resolve it immediately.

The Chief Minister said that everyone knows what was the electricity situation in the state before 2005. Since coming to power, many steps have been taken to provide electricity to the people. There is a misconception being spread by some people about smart pre-paid meters. From independence to 2005 when he was in power, he left Bihar in such a bad state in terms of electricity. During my Independence Day address at Gandhi Maidan on August 15, 2012, I had promised that if the electricity situation did not improve, I would not be among the people to seek votes in the 2015 assembly elections.

He said that we made a promise and fulfilled it to the letter and electricity was delivered to every house of the people. People should not be misled by people who are spreading false propaganda and rumours. He said that people should be aware of the benefits of smart pre-paid meters by running a public campaign and work diligently to resolve customer issues. All district magistrates should also make people aware of the benefits of smart pre-paid meters and encourage them.

The Chief Minister said that we have encouraged the use of solar energy. Solar panels have been installed on the roofs of all government buildings. Solar street lights are being installed in all the villages and settlements so that people get light even at night and there is no inconvenience in traffic. Agricultural feeders are being installed so that farmers get cheap and uninterrupted electricity and do not face any inconvenience in irrigation work.
