Prithvi Shaw Gets A Place In The Squad, Sarfraz Khan Won’t Play, Shocking News

The Mumbai and Rest of India squads for the Irani Cup have been announced. Mumbai will be captained by Ajinkya Rahane and a total of 16 players have been selected in the squad. The big news is that Prithvi Shaw has been included in the squad while Sarfaraz Khan has not been selected in the Mumbai squad. Sarfaraz Khan is currently in the Indian Test team. However, the interesting thing here is that the BCCI has informed that if Sarfaraz does not play the second Test, he will be dropped from the team, but the Mumbai selectors have not kept this player in the team. The second Test between India and Bangladesh starts on September 27 while the Irani Cup starts on October 1.

Big news from the Mumbai team

Ajinkya Rahane has been given the command of the Mumbai team. Apart from that, Shreyas Iyer has also been selected in the team. Shreyas Iyer failed to perform well in the Duleep Trophy. Siddhesh Lad has returned to the squad while Ayush Mahatre has been selected for the first time.

Rest of India’s strong team

Rituraj Gaekwad has been given the reins of Rest of India. Abhimanyu Iswaran has been made the vice-captain. Dhruv Jurrell and Yash Dayal, who are also in the Test squad for the Bangladesh series, have also got a chance in the squad. If these players do not get a chance in the playing eleven, they will be left out of the Indian team and that is why they have been selected in the Rest of India team.
