Pune Rain News: Heavy Rainfall Hits Pimpri-Chinchwad, Citizens Urged To Stay Alert

Pimpri-Chinchwad has recently experienced heavy rainfall, raising concerns about rising water levels in the Pavana, Mula, and Indrayani rivers. The municipal commissioner, Singh, has advised residents living along these rivers to remain vigilant as the situation develops.

To effectively manage potential emergencies, the responsibility for coordinating regional responses has been delegated to additional commissioners. Pradeep Jambhale Patil will oversee regions K, I, and F, while Vijaykumar Khorate will handle regions D, G, and H. Chandrakant Indalkar has been assigned to coordinate with regions A and B. All regional officers are instructed to respond promptly to any emergency situations and deploy resources to drain water in areas where flooding may occur. Furthermore, Commissioner Singh emphasized the importance of coordinating with law enforcement to manage the overall situation during emergencies.

In the meantime, a control room has been established at the Pimpri municipal headquarters, where Commissioner Singh is closely monitoring the situation. A team comprising additional commissioner Chandrakant Indalkar, deputy commissioner Vithal Joshi, chief security officer Uday Jarande, and chief disaster management officer Omprakash Bahival is actively gathering information on the city’s emergency conditions. They are also issuing necessary instructions to relevant officials through the control room.

To enhance preparedness, the municipal corporation has activated systems at the regional office level to manage flood control in respective areas. The administration has urged citizens to contact the municipal control room at 020-67331111 or 020-28331111, or the fire department at 7030908991, in the event of any emergencies.

As the rains continue, local authorities are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Pimpri-Chinchwad residents.
