Punjab: ₹3.44 Crore Released For Backward And Economically Weaker Sections: Dr. Baljit Kaur

In Punjab, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is constantly striving for the welfare of every class. Apart from this, it is also continuously working for the welfare of backward classes and economically weaker sections. Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the state government has started construction work in Bathinda, Mansa and SBS. For 675 beneficiaries of backward classes and economically weaker sections of city districts Rs. 3.44 crore has been issued. This amount covers the pending applications of Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Section beneficiaries for the year 2023-24 and a total of 675 beneficiaries received on the Aswarwad portal during the year 2024-25.

He informed that 33 beneficiaries of Bathinda district, 46 beneficiaries of Mansa and 196 beneficiaries of SBS city were blessed for BCS and EWS. are covered under the scheme.

The minister said that to get the benefit of Aswarwad Yojana, the applicant should be a permanent resident of Punjab state, his family should be below poverty line, the applicant should belong to scheduled castes, backward classes and other economically weaker families and the total family income should be Rs. Should be less than 32,790. Two daughters of such families can avail the benefit of this scheme.

Dr. Baljit Kaur further said that the Punjab government is continuously working for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections. He informed that the financial assistance is paid directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries.
