Here on Thursday, due to cloudburst in Rampur, there was chaos in many villages. Samaj village has suffered the most damage. More than half of the village was swept away by the flood waters here.
According to information, a cloud burst near the hydro project in Zakari, Rampur, 100 km from Shimla, and Samaj Khad was filled with water. The incident took place on Thursday morning. Within seconds, 25 houses were washed away. No one knows where the 36 people went. Everyone is missing. Rescue teams are searching for them. But nothing is known about him yet. The missing also include people from Bihar-Jharkhand. All these people were living here on rent in relation to work. But I don’t know where he is now. Some people are also feared dead. The people of the village said – here a family was washed away along with their house.
Subhash and his wife Kulwinder living in the village said – We were sleeping at night. Then suddenly we woke up. We felt that something was happening in the house. We ran out of the house. We shouted to the people that the cloud had burst. Come all out. Hearing our voice, four people living in our house came out. But the rest stayed inside. Then the debris hit and damaged our house. Everything happened so fast that no one had a chance to recover. Now we don’t even have a roof over our heads. We request the government to help us. He said – more than 25 houses have been washed away due to cloudburst. So far 36 people are reported missing. But this number could be higher.

What did Shimla’s DC say?
Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap said that the way the situation has developed, it is a bit difficult to carry out rescue operations. We have deployed different teams. Our efforts will be to locate missing persons and bodies. Teams of NDRF, SDRF, local police, ITBP, police and home guards are engaged in rescue operations. The DC said that there is a possibility of people drifting away from Samaj village. He said- Cloud burst in Shimla, Kullu and Mandi. In Himachal too, four people have died and 49 people are missing.
