Rains Turn Disaster In UP, Boats Run On Agra Roads; Shops And Houses Were Submerged In Prayagraj

Monsoon may be on its way out in Uttar Pradesh, but it is wreaking havoc as it departs. Incessant rains for 11 hours on Wednesday led to flooding in rivers and canals, knee-deep water in several cities and near-submergence in other places. In such a situation, there is a need to run boats within many other cities including Agra. According to a report released by the Uttar Pradesh government, public life has been badly affected in more than 60 districts of the state.

Such a situation has arisen in many districts including Prayagraj, people have left the ground floor and taken shelter on the first floor. According to a report issued by the revenue department in Uttar Pradesh, about 23.4 mm of rain has fallen in the last 12 hours. More than 60 districts of the state have recorded more than 482 percent of this average rainfall. According to the report of the revenue department, the highest rainfall in the state has been recorded in Hamirpur district. The average rainfall in the month of September is only 4.7 mm, but this time it has broken all the records by 3240 percent more i.e. 137 mm.

A similar situation happened in Agra too. Almost all roads in the city were flooded due to continuous rain for 11 hours. Low-lying areas were knee-deep and at some places waist-deep. On the other hand in Prayagraj both the Ganga and Yamuna rivers are ready to wreak havoc due to this rain. So far, about 10 thousand houses have been flooded. The people of these houses have either fled or taken shelter on the first floor. While there is no relief in Mathura, the city of Lord Krishna.
