AAP MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Heyer

Aam Aadmi Party’s Sangrur Lok Sabha MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Heyer has strongly raised the issue of development in Malwa region in Parliament. He said that Rajpura-Chandigarh railway connectivity will provide many facilities to the people here. Meet Heyer said that entire Malwa is a region where people depend on Chandigarh for health facilities, education and government work. So it is necessary to connect this road with railway.

AAP MP Meet Heyer held the previous government responsible for the condition of the area. He said that the route was neglected because only one political family’s buses were plying on this route. He said that now there is a government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Now this area cannot remain neglected like before. Punjab Government is fully dedicated to the development of this place.

Malwa area needs development

He said that I request the government for the development of Malwa region. The development here will also bring financial benefits to the common people and reduce accidents on the roads. At the beginning of his speech, Meet Heyer paid tribute to martyr Udyam Singh.

Meanwhile, AAP MP Meet Heyer also raised the issue of relaxation given to senior citizens in railways. He said that the relief which was available to senior citizens in the railways has been stopped for the last four years. Meet Heyer said that a large number of elderly travel by train every day, so it should be restarted.

Industry will get a boost in Punjab

Along with this, Meet Heyer also demanded to increase the EDFC root in the Parliament. He said it should be extended to Jalandhar and Amritsar. He said that the condition of industry in Punjab is bad now. Sports and leather goods are made in Jalandhar and fabric is made in Amritsar. Expansion of this road will boost industries in both the places. Apart from this, he also demanded to build a railway flyover. He said that the railway flyover at the intersection here has been pending for a long time due to connectivity problem, it should also be completed.
