Kargil soldier showed courage

Today is celebrating Kargil Victory Day. Everyone is paying tribute to the warriors of Kargil. In this battle, Lal Ravindra Kumar Yadav of Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh showed great courage even after shooting dead five Pakistani Rangers. Meanwhile, Ravindra recalled the Kargil war. His every word gives goosebumps. He narrated how India’s great brave soldiers defeated Pakistan in Siachen.

Ravindra Singh Yadav, a resident of Brahimpur village in Talgram block of the district, joined the army as a constable in 1982. Due to his better performance in Operation Blue Star, the central government sent him to Sri Lanka in 1987, where he killed many LTTE. He also played an important role in the Nagaland operation in 1995. After this, he was made the captain of the Parachute Regiment (Special Force) and sent to fight the Pakistani enemy in Siachen in the freezing cold. When the Kargil war broke out in 1999, he was assigned the responsibility of the Batalik sector here, when he was shot in the left leg while firing on Pakistanis on 23 July.

No treatment until three

Wounded on an inaccessible peak, he continued to fire at the enemy with courage and bravery. They killed five Pakistani Rangers. On July 26, when the brave soldiers repelled the enemy and hoisted the tricolor on the Kargil peak, he was admitted to the hospital along with many injured soldiers.

When he did not receive proper treatment for three days, the infection spread to his leg. Due to which the paw had to be amputated. Seeing the indomitable courage and bravery of Captain Ravindra Yadav, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir honored him with 75 thousand rupees. The President also honored him in 2000. Captain Ravindra Yadav says that whenever he gets information about the cowardice of the enemy on the border, his blood boils. Even though he is crippled in his legs, he still has the same passion as the Kargil war.

The army broke out with the sound of Har-Har Mahadev.

Captain Ravindra Yadav says that Har-Har Mahadev was the battle cry of his regiment. The enemy was constantly firing from a height. His regiment was giving a befitting reply. On 23rd July the regiment started head-to-head firing chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’. During this time, he was shot in the leg.
