Should Chandrasekhar Follow Mayawati’s Path? Know Why The Issue Of Division Of UP Was Raised

Chandrasekhar again raised the issue of bifurcation of UP in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. This issue has not been on the agenda of any political party for a long time. However, BJP has been in favor of small states. But they are against the bifurcation of UP. Even the Rashtriya Lok Dal, which once advocated a green state, has now forgotten it. In such a situation, why did Chandrashekhar demand the division of UP in the Lok Sabha? After all, what is the politics behind this? Mayawati had passed bifurcation of UP in the assembly 12 years ago.

BSP chief Mayawati and Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar are considered to be opposites of each other. So is this just a coincidence or some kind of experiment?

Finally, what is the reason why Chandrasekhar is now in Mayawati’s line? The vote bank of both the leaders is also the same. The declining popularity of the BSP and the growing influence of Chandrasekhar are intertwined. In a way, Chandrasekhar is trying to carry forward Mayawati’s political legacy.

Mayawati’s party BSP is in crisis

BSP chief Mayawati is also alert. Mayawati’s party BSP, who has been the chief minister of UP for four times, is in trouble. The party’s account was not even opened in the Lok Sabha elections. Only one MLA of BSP was elected in UP elections. To connect the new generation with the party, she brought her nephew Akash Anand into politics.

He made Akash his political successor. Then suddenly, in the middle of the Lok Sabha elections, his campaigning was banned. He called him an artist. As soon as the elections were over, Mayawati again made him number two in the BSP. But by then Chandrasekhara Ravana had drawn a long line for himself.

Dalits and Muslims have been Mayawati’s strength in western UP. Based on him, the BSP remained the largest political force in western UP for years. At one point Mayawati also got the votes of the Jat community. When the BSP became weak, the Muslims left it. Among the Dalits, only the Jatavs remained with them.

Chandrasekhar’s eye is on social engineering

Chandrasekhar became an MP from Nagina in the Lok Sabha elections. Muslims voted for him. Dalits voted. People of Jat community also voted. Now Chandrasekhar is preparing to revive the issue of division of UP based on this social engineering.

He feels that if Western UP becomes a separate state, he can get a chance to become the Chief Minister. Together with the Dalit, Muslim and Jat community voters in Western UP, they can fulfill their mission.

There has never been any major agitation for a separate state in western UP. But Chandrasekhar now wants to look into this issue. It is also true that no one ever took the partition of UP seriously.

When Mayawati was the Chief Minister, on 22 November 2011, the bifurcation of UP was passed in the Legislative Assembly. Assembly elections were held a few months later. Akhilesh Yadav replaced Mayawati as CM. Partition of UP was never discussed again.
