ST Employees Pay Hike, Toll Tax Free… CM Eknath Shinde’s Big Announcement Ahead Of Maharashtra Elections.


Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken two major decisions on Wednesday. On the other hand, it has been decided to waive road tax (toll) for Ganesha devotees going to Konkan for Ganeshotsav from September 5 to September 19, on the other hand ST employees have called off the strike. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting with ST employees on Wednesday. The government has increased the basic salary of ST employees by six and a half thousand rupees.

A delegation of ST Workers Joint Action Committee was present in this meeting. BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar, MLA Sadabhau Khot, lawyer Gunaratna Sadavarte, Jayashree Patil of ST Madhakkash Jan Sangh were also present in this meeting. The ST employees demanded a salary hike of Rs 5000. But the government has decided to increase it to 6500 rupees.

Decision to waive toll tax

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has decided to waive road tax (toll) for Ganesha devotees going to Konkan for Ganeshotsav from Thursday, September 5 to September 19. After the notification of the Chief Minister, the government decision in this regard has been published. The concession will be applicable at toll booths on Mumbai-Bangalore National Highway, Mumbai-Goa National Highway and other PWD roads.

In a review meeting of Ganeshotsav preparations held on August 14, the Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department to provide toll exemption and other comfortable facilities to Ganesha devotees going to Konkan for Ganeshotsav.

For this toll waiver exemption, road toll waiver pass in the form of stickers containing content ‘Ganeshotsav 2024, Konkan Darshan’, vehicle number, driver’s name and those stickers have to be submitted to the Transport Department as per the required number, Traffic Police.

This toll discount will also be applicable on state transport corporation buses going to Konkan for Ganeshotsav. These passes will be given to the ST Corporation by the district police or RTO of the district where the buses are for Ganeshotsav.

Police and transport departments have also been directed to inform citizens about the pass facility and its availability during Ganeshotsav.
