Students protesting under Karol Bagh Metro Station

The death of three students due to flooding in the basement of a coaching center in Delhi’s old Rajendra area has gained momentum. The day after the incident i.e. Sunday, the students who were preparing started protesting in front of Karol Bagh Metro Station. Paramilitary forces were called in to evacuate the students. It is being told that many protesting students have also been detained. According to information received, the police and forces have dispersed the protesting students and started agitation on the streets.

The protesting students are accusing the coaching center of negligence. The student says that there are many coaching centers in Delhi which are playing with students’ lives every day, but the administration is silent. Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav reached Old Rajendra Nagar to meet the students. As soon as he reached the students, their protest started. The students started raising slogans to go back. Yadav wanted to talk to the students, but it was not possible.

The Lt. Governor said- points to criminal negligence

The statement of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has also come out on this incident. He said in a post on X that the coaching center incident points to criminal negligence and lack of basic maintenance by the concerned agencies. The Divisional Commissioner has been instructed to submit a report on the incident. Expressing grief over the incident, the Lt. Governor said that he was closely monitoring the situation.

Questions raised on drainage system in the city

He said the city’s drainage and related infrastructure and efforts to address these problems have clearly failed. It reflects the widespread plight of misgovernance that has prevailed in Delhi for the past decade. The role of coaching institutes and landlords should also be considered.
