Earlier on Monday too, terrorists ambushed a joint party of Jammu and Kashmir Police Force and Special Operation Group (SOG) in Udhampur district. An inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed in the incident.

The patrol team was targeted

The militants carried out the attack when SOG and CRPF personnel were on patrol in the remote Dudu area of ​​Basantgarh. Then the terrorists who were sitting in ambush fired indiscriminately. Inspector Kuldeep Singh of CRPF’s 187th Battalion was shot in the terrorist attack. He died on the way to the hospital.

After the attack, when retaliatory action was launched by the security forces, the terrorists fled the scene. After the attack, additional security forces were rushed to the spot and a search operation was also conducted in the area to trace the terrorists.

Assembly elections are going to be held next month

At a time when the union territory assembly elections are going on, terrorist attacks are happening one after the other in Jammu and Kashmir. Assembly elections are being held in the state after almost 10 years. Earlier, the election was held in 2014. Elections were not held in 2019 after the abrogation of Article 370.

The Election Commission has decided to conduct voting in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting will be held for the first phase on September 18, for the second phase on September 25 and for the third phase on October 1. At the same time, the result will be announced on October 4. It is believed that the terrorists are trying to create an atmosphere of panic in the valley through such incidents.

Additional troops are being deployed in the valley

Security is also being strengthened in the Valley in view of the elections. Additional troops are being deployed. Three-tier security arrangements are being made in sensitive areas. At the time of polling, troops will be deployed at every nook and corner in areas where the presence of terrorists is frequent.
