Indian Army has deployed 3 to 4 thousand additional troops in Jammu region in view of continuous terrorist incidents. According to sources, this week the army has also sent a brigade headquarters, three battalions and some para SF teams to Jammu region.

Let us tell you that there are about 1100 soldiers in a battalion. Similarly, the Para SF team has about 40 commandos. In this way, about 500 para commandos have been sent to Jammu. Along with this CAPF (Central Armed Police Force) has also deployed additional troops in Jammu region.

Terrorists took advantage of the shortage of personnel

The impact of troop shortages along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and tensions with China were reflected in the Jammu region and the militants got a chance to flourish there again. Taking advantage of the troop shortage, the militants have not only reared themselves but have now become a major headache for the security forces in the Jammu region.

Four years ago, when tensions escalated along the LAC with China in eastern Ladakh and the situation escalated into violent clashes, the uniformed force was withdrawn from here and sent to the LAC. From here the number of soldiers of a division decreased.

Four divisions were deployed four years ago

Four years ago there were about four army divisions in the Jammu region. By sending a uniform force to the LAC, three divisions were left here. Currently the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) has Romeo Force and Delta Force. It completely oversees the Counter-Insurgency-Counter-Terrorism (CICT) function. A force consists of 12 thousand soldiers equal to a division.

14 thousand 500 feet high mountains

Two more divisions of the army are in the Jammu region. In this one division’s task is to watch LoC and another division’s task is LoC and also CICT. The area under Romeo and Delta Force has mountains 14,500 feet high. The area is densely forested, in which terrorists can easily take shelter.
