Texas football’s Week 2 game against Michigan captured a viewing audience of 9.35 million, according to a social media post from FOX Sports’ public relations department on Tuesday.
And the Longhorns gave those viewers a show.
Steve Sarkisian’s team blew out the defending national champions in their home stadium, 31-12, sending an early message.

The contest was the most-watched college football game this season on any network, FOX said. It was also Saturday’s most-watched telecast of the day on any network.
Texas took a 24-3 lead into halftime behind two passing touchdowns from Quinn Ewers and Jerrick Gibson’s rushing TD. The Longhorns then outscored Michigan 7-3 in the third quarter, wrapping the game up early. The Wolverines’ only touchdown of the game came with two minutes to go.
Texas (2-0) returns to action against UTSA (1-1) on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN).
