The Government Will Charge For Parking A Car On The Road… How Much Will It Cost For An Hour, Day And Week?

The government is going to implement a new rule against those who park cars on roads at night in Uttar Pradesh cities. The government will collect its parking fee from those who park their vehicles at night in municipal corporations. An order in this regard will be issued by the government soon. It is believed that the government will charge Rs 100 per night, Rs 300 per week and Rs 1,000 per month.

In many cities of the state, people park their cars on the road at night. This parking is free, meaning no fee is charged by the government or the municipal corporation. But the government is soon going to implement a system for this. Parking fee will be charged from people who park their vehicles on the road at night.

Why is parking policy important?

Giving information about the State Municipal Corporation Provisional Rules-2024, Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat has sought suggestions in this regard. He said that the suggestions of the public will be considered and the new parking policy will be implemented after the approval of the Cabinet after resolving the objections. He said that due to lack of parking in cities, the Municipal Corporation collects money at its discretion. Due to this, illegal parking has also increased.

What did the Urban Development Principal Secretary say?

The Principal Secretary, Urban Development said that illegal parking in urban areas has increased due to arbitrary awarding and collection of parking contracts by the Municipal Corporation. Giving information, Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat said that the Urban Development Department has been instructed to come up with a new policy for planned parking. Based on that, a new parking policy will be introduced soon. Regarding the new parking policy, the urban development officer said that this will give a huge boost to the revenue of the civic bodies. He said even big companies could submit tenders for parking contracts in cities.
