The python attacked the man

A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Kalyanpur village of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Where a villager went to the forest to defecate, he was suddenly attacked by a 15 feet long python. The python was holding the villager’s neck with its tail and trying to swallow him. Seeing this horrible scene, the villagers grabbed the python’s mouth and called for help. After some time, a passing villager caught sight of him, after which he somehow escaped.

Passers-by said that when they reached the spot after hearing a person’s voice, the python had completely taken over the village. Without caring for their lives, the villagers immediately tried to separate the python from the villagers. As the villagers had no other means, they killed the python using axes, stones and other sharp weapons. Other villagers rescued the villagers from the python’s clutches. Due to the lack of information and the seriousness of the situation, the villagers killed the python instead of taming it. He immediately informed the police. The incident comes under the police post Bagraji of Kundam Police Station in Jabalpur. The police reached the place of the incident and got the information about the entire incident and took necessary legal action.

The incident turned even more tragic when it was revealed that the villagers had killed the python in a cruel move to save their lives. Had they got the correct information on how to tame the python without killing it, the python’s life might have been saved. This incident has exposed the lack of information and awareness about wildlife among the villagers. Wildlife experts say pythons do not usually attack humans and can be properly controlled. The incident also highlighted how deadly a lack of awareness and education about wildlife can prove to be in rural areas. It is important that more awareness is spread about the safe management of wildlife in such areas.

Overall, this incident is an important lesson for the villagers and underlines the need to spread awareness for wildlife conservation. Police and forest department should work together in this direction so that such incidents can be avoided in future and wildlife can be protected.
