On the other hand, the stock market is seen at record highs. Sensex and Nifty were seen crossing record highs for the second consecutive day on Friday. Rising for the ninth consecutive session on Friday, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed at an all-time high of 82,365.77, up 231.16 points or 0.28 per cent. In intraday trade, it jumped 502.42 points or 0.61 per cent to hit a fresh record high of 82,637.03 points.

A total of 2,228 stocks rose on BSE, while 1,701 stocks fell and there was no change in the prices of 116 stocks. The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty rose 83.95 points or 0.33 per cent to hit a new all-time high of 25,235.90 points. The Nifty closed with gains for the 12th consecutive day. It rose 116.4 points or 0.46 per cent on the day to hit a new high of 25,268.35 points.
