Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati questioned Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s decision to inscribe names on shops and said it would not do much good. Questioning the intention of the Uttar Pradesh government, he said that the government had taken a similar decision during the Kanwar Yatra too, no one knows what benefit it gained.
Mayawati said that the government’s intention then was to divert people’s attention and it is still the same today. The state already has strict laws on food adulteration, but no action is taken due to negligence and complicity of the government. The adulteration market is going on in the state without any fear. The government’s decision that people now have to write names on shops will not help.
Speaking on the Tirupati temple controversy, he said that the news of fat adulteration in prasad laddus has saddened people across the country. But people are politicizing this too. After the politics of religion, who is the real culprit of such a hideous mess with people’s faith? Such incidents should be known to be a matter of concern.

What is the government mandate?
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, September 24, directed that all shop owners will have to install CCTV cameras in their shops along with their name and address. Along with this, the workers have also made it mandatory to wear masks and gloves. Referring to incidents of spitting and urinating in food items, CM Yogi said that such incidents adversely affect people’s health. He gave strict instructions to the officials to prevent such an incident from happening in Uttar Pradesh.
In fact, a few days ago a video went viral in Ghaziabad, in which a shopkeeper was seen urinating in juice. After this he was arrested. A similar incident also came to light from Muzaffarpur, where a shopkeeper was making rotis by spitting on them, the government has taken this decision after all these incidents.
