The film runs on only three things – entertainment, entertainment and entertainment. What is true entertainment for you? Some may answer this by telling a good story, while others may put the acting first. So some would say the cast of the film or some other answer may be there. But the real entertainment for me is the characters and their timing. I’ll start the copy with a simple example. Suppose there is a Rs 1000 crore superstar whose film is showing in theatres. It has a lot of fans, a mega budget film, a big promotional strategy and everything needed to make the film a series hit. But will the picture work if it doesn’t fit with the masses time-wise? Yes, maybe it will work because there is strong demand, but it won’t last long. On the contrary, if there is a film in which the actors are okay but the timing is excellent, the case will do well and will also make huge profits.
Three films came on 15th August. I wanted to see all three. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Main’, John Abraham’s ‘Veda’ and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’. So the film I started with is – Stree 2. The plot of the film is crazy, it has a new creative style with lots of masala humor and swag. The first part of the film has come long ago. In such a situation, the producers had a huge responsibility to live up to the expectations of the people. So the steps taken by the makers have kept the film ahead of the race from day one. While the other two films are running, Stree 2 is running. What are the 5 things that set the case.
Those 5 things about ‘Stree 2’ that are sure to be a super-duper hit
1. Timing of Cameo: There were some hints even before the release of the film. Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar’s cameos were also in the news. Tamannaah Bhatia had a special song, so this was totally expected. But the makers went a step further than what they thought. All the three cameos in the film happened at the right time. What’s even better is that no one’s cameos feel forced. There is a story that connects one character to another. It is often seen that actresses perform just to include a song in a film. But this time it didn’t happen.

When Akshay Kumar made his entry, his story started much earlier. That story was also being remembered in between. That story had already started when the wolf i.e. Varun Dhawan came. And the third was Tamannaah Bhatia, who had a special song. But she came into the film with a story and didn’t disappear as soon as the song ended. His story continues until the end, which has connections with other characters.
2. Akshay’s Cameo: When it came to know that Akshay Kumar will do a cameo in ‘Stree 2’. So the thought started in my mind that either the makers will show action along with comedy. Otherwise he will come down to help the woman. This happened but the style was beyond imagination. Akshay Kumar’s character in the film is a big achievement in itself. The makers didn’t try to force the ending. Just let Akshay live and act the way people like him and that was awesome.
3. Rajkumar-Shraddha’s confrontation with Sarkate: This question is for people who have seen the movie. At the beginning of the film, did any of you think the ending would be like this? I don’t think so because our thinking has become that only the hero and heroine will do the ‘end’ of the story. More and more women will turn their chotli and end the terror of Sarkatte. Or Rajkumar Rao will save ‘Chanderi’ again or Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan will do wonders. But nothing happened. Sarkate was killed by the very man whose daughter’s powers he came to destroy. That means ‘woman’ won.
4. Varun Dhawan’s Unexpected Connection: The film had a cameo by Varun Dhawan, who came in the form of a wolf to help ‘Stree’. When Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao come face-to-face with Sarakte, Varun Dhawan comes in the form of a wolf and the story takes a new turn. But in this way his connection will be connected with Abhishek Banerjee’s character i.e. Jana. The makers have done this wonderfully. Who knew he would make such an entry running away from his friend’s house?
5. The makers haven’t strayed from comedy: There are many things to keep in mind while making a horror comedy film. It is necessary to take care of the basic things so that the story of the film does not go astray. At the same time, the public should not feel any overs. This is a horror film, so the fight had to be done. But only Rajkumar Rao did it. Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurana continued to do the job very well. There was a touch of comedy along with action and drama. This is called: Presenting the film properly.
