There is no toilet in Sasara

In Bihar’s Purnia district, a wife left her husband’s house because she had to go outside to defecate. This story is similar to Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’. The case is from Katia district of Purna, where a woman was married. After going to her father-in-law’s place, the woman realized that there was no toilet facility, so she had to go outside to defecate. The woman was facing many difficulties. After a few days he went back to his maternal uncle’s house.

The husband went to the in-laws and asked the wife to return home. The wife made a condition with her husband that she would return there only when a toilet was built in the house. The husband brought her back home asking her to build the toilet. But the toilet was not built. The wife became upset and went back to her parents’ house. This time, despite the passage of several days, the husband did not come to pick her up and was only arguing over the phone. The girl filed an application against her husband to the Superintendent of Police of Purna, Upendra Nath Verma.

Sent husband and wife to counseling center

The SP sent the application given by the woman to the Police Family Counseling Centre. The center took notice through the police station and called both the husband and wife to the centre. The wife alleges that her marriage has been going on for 4 years. But the husband does not build the toilet in the house. Earlier one had to walk a short distance to defecate in the open, but now one has to walk a long distance. The woman said that after repeated requests, she only got assurances. It is difficult to defecate on rainy days as compared to other days. The husband told the center that all the people in the village go to defecate in the open.

After listening to both of them, Kendra scolded the husband and told him about the diseases caused by open defecation. After this, the center also gave a bond to the husband that he would gradually construct the toilet in three months. When the husband agreed to this, the wife also agreed to go to her father-in-law.
