Accused in police custody.
The police have arrested the accused who asked the rate from a woman journalist in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. On August 15, the female journalist was waiting for a cab to go home. Meanwhile two miscreants stopped him and made lewd remarks at him. After reaching home, the victim told about the incident through social media that a bike passed on the road and the person sitting behind waved his hand and asked what rate would he take? After receiving information about the incident, the police took cognizance and arrested the accused late on Thursday night.
According to the police, information was received that vulgar comments were being made on the girl through social media. The victim was immediately contacted and a case was registered at Police Station Sector-20. Nearby CCTV footage was verified. Both the accused have been arrested within 24 hours. They have been identified as Ashwat (25) and Vipin (27). The motorcycle used in the incident has been recovered from him.

Describing the incident, the female journalist wrote on social media, “I was waiting for a cab near DLF Mall when a bike beckoned me but I was not surprised. Then I thought I knew it. But I was wrong. He said don’t be surprised, calm down. Bike question said, I saw you walking, I liked you very much. So I thought let’s stop and talk. Who knows, there might be a chance.
The reporter asked the rate
The journalist said that she left quietly and called her friend and asked them to talk till they reached the metro station. Those bikers followed me. Then a biker showed his hand and asked, ‘What rate will you take?’ Even after saying this he did not stop and it was all done in the blink of an eye. Fortunately I reached home safely.
Police asked – will you go to jail?
The female journalist said that a similar incident happened to her in Sector-18 last Sunday as well. Apart from this, a boy at Rajiv Chowk Metro station also asked for her phone number, after the social media post, Noida Police swung into action and started searching for the accused. In which the police got success and two miscreants were arrested within 24 hours. When the police arrested the accused they asked them the same way – will they go to jail? Currently, action is going on against both the accused.
