UP: Dispute Over Possession Of Property, Son Burns Mother At Police Station; Death

A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, where a son set his mother on fire inside the police station. The woman was badly burnt in the fire, after which she was rushed to the hospital. As the condition of the woman was critical, she was referred to a higher center but the woman could not be saved. The woman was having a dispute with her husband’s maternal uncle regarding land and possession. Now the accused son has been arrested.

According to information, a 50-year-old woman named Hemalta of Aligarh had a dispute with her in-laws regarding the possession of the house. It is being told that the woman’s husband died about 18 years ago. After which the woman along with her children came to her maternal uncle and father-in-law’s house in Darkan Nagriya of Kher village.

The woman has a total of three sons, out of which two sons are employed in Faridabad, while the elder son lives with the woman. He is married. A few days ago, a woman named Hemlata accused her maternal uncle and father-in-law of threatening and abusing her. The police registered an FIR in this matter and a charge sheet has been filed in this matter. The police called both the parties to the police station for reconciliation.

Uncle and father-in-law Chandrabhan arrived with his family, while the woman also reached the police station with her son. The in-laws were ready to pay Rs 5 lakh to vacate the house, but the woman and her son were adamant on Rs 10 lakh. Meanwhile, the woman and her son went out and when they returned, the woman had a bottle of flammable substance in her hand. Threatened, the son suddenly set fire to the bottle with a lighter. As soon as the bottle caught fire, the woman started burning. The policemen tried to save but their hands got burnt.

The woman was rushed to hospital but died during treatment. The accused son was immediately arrested. The police are currently interrogating the accused’s son.
