The goons fatally attacked the priest of the Shiva temple
A priest of a Shiva temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki was attacked by goons. The miscreants allegedly chased the saint around and beat him up. The mahant protested the cutting of trees in the temple premises, after which the goons beat up the priest. Pujari alleged that the entire incident took place in front of the BJP MLA but no one helped him. The priest has also warned that he will commit suicide if action is not taken against the culprits.
The whole matter is connected with Neelkantheshwar Mahadev Temple Harpalpur in Hydergarh Kotwali area of Barabanki. Mahant Mukundapuri here has alleged that he protested the cutting of trees on the temple premises, so the goons chased him and beat him up. Pujari alleged that around half a dozen goons, including Virendra Singh, Ramkumar, Brijesh, Ajju Shukla and Ramchandra Giri, beat him up in front of BJP MLA Dinesh Rawat, but he and his security guards said nothing.
The priest threatened to commit suicide
Based on Mahant’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused. The priest has warned that he is deeply saddened by the incident. Along with this, the priest has also threatened that he will commit suicide if the police and the administration do not catch and punish the accused soon. Pujari further said that he will prepare a suicide note and after writing the names of all these accused in it, he will commit suicide.
