UP: Nazul Land Bill Stalled In Legislative Council, Anupriya Patel Said- This Is Unnecessary

The UP government’s Nazul Land Bill is stuck in the Legislative Council. Along with the opposition, many BJP MLAs are also opposing this bill. BJP ally Apna Dal (S) president and Union Minister Anupriya Patel has also protested. He has said that this is an unnecessary bill and against the sentiments of the general public. He has demanded that the state government withdraw it. He has also accused the officials of misleading the government in this matter.

Anupriya Patel said that the Nazul Lands (Management and Use for Public Purposes) Bill, 2024 has been referred to the Select Committee of the Legislative Council for discussion today. With regard to the bill which was brought without elaborate discussion, I clearly believe that this bill is not only unnecessary but also against the sentiments of the common people. Strict action should be taken against the misleading officials in this matter.

Bhupendra Chaudhary requested to send the Select Committee

When BJP MLAs opposed the bill in the assembly, state president and MLC Bhupendra Chaudhary stood up in the council and requested to refer the bill to a select committee due to disagreement over some provisions, which the chairman accepted. The selection committee will submit its report in two months.

BJP has 79 members in the 100 member house.
