A father killed his son in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The father was troubled by his son’s daily drunkenness and profanity. The case is from Panki police station area of Kanpur. Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Kashiram Colony here, confessed in police custody that he was very troubled by his drug addict son’s addiction to alcohol. The son was employed as an auto driver. He used to drink every day and come home drunk, followed by daily fights in the house.
The accused father said that the son used to come home drunk every day, sometimes abused him and sometimes abused the rest of the family. He used to beat me too. Last Friday, when the son reached home drunk, he started an argument with his father over some housework, to which the father objected and started beating him. After this, the enraged father beat the drunken son with a belt.
The father killed the son
Not only this, the father became so enraged that when the son got tired after the beating, he killed him by strangling him with a belt. After killing the father was very remorseful. In order to mislead people, the accused father said that his son’s death was due to excessive intoxication. After the murder, the father lit an incense stick near his son’s body and put Ganges water and Tulsi leaves in his mouth in penitence and in the morning informed the surrounding people about his son’s accidental death. In the case Panki did not come to the police station, she reached the spot and the police got information from the people nearby that there was a heated fight between father and son in the house late at night.
People were told the wrong story
After this, on suspicion, the police detained father Ranjit and interrogated him at the police station, after which he broke down and told the police the whole story. According to the information received by the police in the entire incident, 22-year-old Rohit, a resident of Kanshiram Colony of Panki Police Station, was an auto driver by profession. On Friday night, Rohit reached home by driving an auto under the influence of alcohol. On reaching here he started abusing his father Ranjit. When the father objected to this, he started beating him. During this fight the father was hit by a leather belt due to which the father Ranjit became enraged and started beating his son. The father beat the son so much that he collapsed. After this the father strangled the son. After the father’s confession, the police have started further investigation.
