Matthew Parker, a three-star offensive tackle, has decommitted from Vanderbilt football, he announced on social media Monday.
“I want to express my gratitude to Coach K, Coach Lea and the entire coaching staff at Vanderbilt University for their support, and for extending an amazing opportunity to be a part of their football program,” Parker wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“After prayerful consideration with my family and coaches, we have come to the conclusion that it is in my best interest to decommit from Vanderbilt University.”
He is ranked the No. 101 tackle and No. 1,353 player in the country overall, according to the 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-8, 295-pounder was the only offensive lineman committed to the Commodores in the 2025 class and was their most recent commit on June 10. That class has just eight commits overall.
The early signing period begins Dec. 4.
With the NCAA settlement increasing the number of allowable scholarships to 105, Vanderbilt may be able to take more high school players during the fall, though many programs have begun taking far fewer freshmen in favor of transfer portal recruits.
The Commodores have the fewest 2025 commits of any team in the SEC. Five teams have more than 20 commits; however, Florida has 10 and Ole Miss has 13.
