New guidelines issued for Darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Entry to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Uttar Pradesh has been closed from today through three gates. All types of protocols are banned here. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the rising water level of Ganga and the safety of devotees. The guidelines say to visit Kashi Vishwanath Mandir on the Monday of Savan for Baba Vishwanath Darshan keeping in mind your health and facilities.

In view of the water level of Ganga, entry to Kashi Vishwanath Dham is closed from Ganga Gate at Lalita Ghat and from Silko Gate and Saraswati Gate for other security reasons. After the new guidelines, no protocol will be valid on 12th August i.e. fourth Monday of Sawan. No special queue facility will be provided on any card.

When to visit from which side?

The Vishwanath temple administration said on Saturday that the entry system from Gate No. 04 and Nandu Faria Gate 4B located at Gnanavapi will remain as before. The temple administration anticipates a larger crowd of devotees on the fourth Monday of Savan than on the previous three Mondays. Hence, devotees are requested to proceed towards Vishwanath Temple via Godaulia-Maidagin Road. Stand where you can see the queue from there. You will not be allowed to enter the temple directly from Jnanavapi. He also said that darshan may take longer than previous Mondays, so wait patiently for your turn.
