Vote for Memphis area’s top offensive football player entering 2024 TSSAA season


The 2024 TSSAA football season is just days away which means it’s time to vote for the offensive preseason player of the year in the Memphis area. Voting closes at 10 a.m., Monday.

Damontae Dillard, Northpoint Christian School, Sr.: Dillard rushed for 1,156 yards and 18 total touchdowns a season ago, helping the Trojans to an 8-4 finish.

Chandler Day, Houston, Sr.: The two-sport athlete Day was an All-State performer for 6A champion Houston last season. He threw for 2,479 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also rushed for 332 yards rushing and eight touchdowns.

Charles Humphrey, MASE Jr.: Humphrey is a rock on the MASE offensive line, standing at 6-foot-7, 291 pounds. The junior has offers from Mississippi State, Oregon and Memphis among others.

Brady Hughes, Memphis University School, Sr.: The Owls’ veteran quarterback threw for 1,644 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also rushed for 364 yards and four touchdowns. He has offers from Murray State, Cornell and others.

Geron Johnson, Bartlett, Sr.: Johnson, a Mississippi State commit, was an All-State honoree and Mr. Football finalist last season after rushing for 1,882 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Radarious Jackson, Sheffield, Sr.: Radarious Jackson, a Tennessee commit ranked among the state’s elite, won 3A Mr. Football and was an All-State honoree last season. The 6-foot-2 wideout recorded 1,978 all-purpose yards with 29 touchdowns.

Tre’von McGory, Germantown, Jr.: As a sophomore, McGory was one of Germantown’s top offensive weapons, helping the Red Devils to the state quarterfinals. He already has offers from the likes of Tennessee, Missouri and Ole Miss.

Jamarion Morrow, Melrose, Sr.: Morrow, a Missouri commit now at Melrose, recorded 1,212 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns at Germantown last season.

Kelvin Perkins, Southwind, Jr.: Perkins, reigning 5A Mr. Football, helped Southwind to a stellar 13-1 finish, throwing for 2,860 yards and 46 touchdowns. He rushed for an additional 583 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Skylan Smith, Covington, Sr.: Smith was an All-State running back and Mr. Football finalist in 3A last season, posting over 2,000 yards of total offense.
