We Are Proud Of Shubhanshu Shukla… CMS Congratulates Alumnus On Becoming Prime Astronaut


Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force has been selected as the prime astronaut to go to the International Space Station (ISS). Shubhanshu will soon go to ISS under a joint mission of ISRO and NASA. City Montessori School has expressed happiness on this achievement of Shubhanshu Shukla, a resident of Lucknow.

Expressing happiness over Shubhanshu Shukla’s achievement, the school said that he has once again made Lucknow proud with his extraordinary achievement. Also filled the entire country with pride by visiting NASA’s International Space Station as an Indian citizen.

Selection of Shubhanshu Shukla as Chief Astronaut

In fact, Shubhanshu Shukla has been selected as the lead astronaut for the Indo-American space mission, which was recently announced by ISRO. Earlier, Shubhanshu has also been selected for the Gaganyaan mission. CMS Manager, Prof. Expressing happiness over the unprecedented achievement of the CMS student, Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that a few days ago on May 29, Shubhanshu came to CMS Aliganj Campus-1, where CMS students and teachers gave him a grand welcome.

Meanwhile, Shubhanshu spoke to the students of the school. He said that it was in this campus that Shubhanshu dreamed of his future life as a student. Prof. Gandhi said that with his amazing achievement, Shubhanshu has not only made his school proud but Lucknow on the world stage.

India’s second astronaut

CMS Public Relations Officer Rishi Khanna said that Shubhanshu has been selected for the joint space mission of ISRO and American space agency NASA. Thus, Shubhanshu has made the country proud as India’s second astronaut.

Earlier, Rakesh Sharma had gone into space with the Soviet mission in 1984. Shubhanshu, a resident of Triveni Nagar, Lucknow, who hails from an ordinary background, has achieved this unprecedented feat due to his ability, grit and determination, which the entire CMS family is proud of.

Completed primary education through CMS

Rishi Khanna said Shubhanshu’s training as an astronaut begins this week and soon he will leave for the International Space Station, where he will conduct experiments related to science research and technology. Shubhanshu completed his entire primary education from Montessori to Class 12 at CMS, after which he was selected as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force in 2006, Khanna said. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Shubhanshu with Astronauts Wings Award. Rishi Khanna expressed confidence that CMS student Shubhanshu’s achievement will definitely prove to be an inspiration for the current students.
