Illinois is playing on Peacock because it is part of the Big Ten’s seven-year, $7 billion media rights deal, signed in 2022. The Illini game vs. Penn State is on NBC and Peacock, while Illinois played earlier this year in an exclusive Peacock game against Central Michigan. The Peacock games are announced through Week 6. The remaining games will be announced during the season.

Penn State 31, Illinois 17: The No. 8 Nittany Lions have the 10th-ranked running attack in the nation, while No. 21 Illinois counters with the No. 15-ranked scoring defense and a turnover creation that ranks third. The Illini, and No. 5 Tennessee, are the only teams with two wins against AP Top 25 opponents. Illinois is just 2-13 all-time against Penn State when the latter is ranked, but it’s a big spread (17.5) for the Nittany Lions to cover.
